Mary Edmondson, nee Williams, was born in Scott county, Kentucky, December 17, 1809, and died at Winterset, Iowa, October 18, 1903. Her age was 93 years, 10 months and 1 day.
She was married to J. W. Edmondson, February 22, 1825 in Kentucky, to whom was born three children, one of which died in infancy. The other two are living, Lucy Ann Walker, of Winterset and W. H. Edmondson, now living in Oklahoma.
She spent 12 years of her life in Indiana and with her husband and children immigrated to Iowa in the fall of 1854. They entered and built their home on North river near the present residence of A. D. Fletcher. All the old settlers for miles knew Grandma Edmondson and her indian stories of those pioneer days are familiar to many of us.
Sixty years ago she became a member of the M. E. church and continued in that relation until her death. She leaves two children, nine grandchildren, about twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and many friends in breavement.
The place of interment was at Jefferson burial ground after an appropriate funeral service at Jefferson attended by a large number of sympathizing friends.

Page 3Death of Grandma Edmundson
Grandma Edmundson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Walker Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18, at the age of 94 years. The funeral was held on Tuesday at the Jefferson Center school house and she was buried beside her husband in the Jefferson cemetery. Mrs. Edmundson was an old resident of Madison county and was dearly beloved by all who knew her. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
