Garth A. Stickney, 76, of West Des Moines, IA passed away Monday, January 26, 2009, at the Winterset Care Center North in Winterset, IA.
Per Garth’s wishes, his body has been cremated. No service is planned at this time.
Survivors include his wife Jacqueline of West Des Moines; two sons, Michael Stickney of Madison, WI, and David Stickney of South Carolina; a daughter Cathy Miller of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Garth Alan Stickney was born March 14, 1932, in Kalamazoo, MI to Cleon and Freida (Van Woert) Stickney. Garth served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He married Jacqueline Scott on July 7, 1951, in Indiana and worked as a Mechanical Engineer.
Garth was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is assisting with arrangements.
