MRS. R. F. BRUCE,

Bertha Leola Nelson was born October 12, 1875, in Mercer county, Illinois, being 37 years, 6 months and 12 days old at the time of her death.

On January 27, 1897, she was united in marriage to R. F. Bruce at Winterset, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Marion, age 14; Leone, age 11; and Helen, age 8.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and family moved to Wall, S.D. six years ago and located on land three miles southwest of Wall, where they have since resided. Besides a husband and three children, deceased leaves to mourn her untimely taking away, a father and mother, five brothers and two sisters, two sisters having preceded her to the Great Beyond several years ago.

The last services were held at the Congregational church Monday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. Alderson. Songs were touchingly rendered by the choir. The flowers were many and beautiful, but not more beautiful than the face that rested so peacefully among them. "Beautiful in life, Beautiful in death". Flowers seem to be the last emblem we have to express our love for we wreathe them around the cradle, the marriage altar and the tomb. Thus would we leave her, and in memory keep her, as sweetly reposing among the beautiful and fragrant flowers.

Out of town relatives here to attend the funeral were the father, A. H. Nelson of Winterset, Iowa, and brothers, Orville Nelson of Clearfield, Iowa; Wm. Nelson, Winner, S.D.; Grover Nelson, Roswell, S.D.; Earl Nelson, Winterset, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Louis Bond, Winterset, Iowa, and A. Ramsey, Winterset, Iowa.
