CHARLES F. SCOTT, Truro

Charles F. Scott was born in Steubenville, Ohio, July 9, 1846,and died at Truro, Iowa, April 26, 1913, aged 66 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was married to Harriet L. Barnes of Stephenson county, Illinois, Nov. 2, 1870. To this union was born eight children. He is survived by his wife, seven children, ten grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and a host of friends. One son, Thomas, passed away five years ago.

When a young man, Mr. Scott came to Carroll county, Illinois and soon after united with the Presbyterian church of Shannon, Ill. Later the family moved to Pearl City, Ill., twenty four years ago, and he united with the Evangelical Lutheran church at that place. Brother Scott has been active in church work as Sunday school scholar, teacher and superintendent and other religious work. Brother Scott was active in fraternal, as well as religious work. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed in the community and especially in his home.

The funeral was conducted from the Christian church on Tuesday, April 29th by Rev. E. E. Bennett of Des Moines, and the remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery, conducted at the grave by the Masonic lodges of Truro and St. Charles.

The family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks for the kindness and loving sympathy of the neighbors and friends in this their sad and sudden bereavement. May the Lord bless and keep them.
