Mrs. Clara Martens, 84, of DeSoto, died June 23, 1986 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines of cancer.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Van Meter.

Clara was born in Dallas County and was a home maker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter.

Survivors include son, William D. Martens, Winterset, Iowa, Dave and Vera Niendorf, Indianapolis, Indiana, sister, Elise Zieman, Indianola, Iowa, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
