Joan A. Jurgensen Brooker, 51 of 3119 SW 13th St. Place, Des Moines, died of cancer at home on April 23, 1984. Services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church south of Van Meter with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Brooker was born in DeSoto and spent her early life there and has been a Des Moines resident since her marriage. She was a housewife and parttime waitress.

Survivors include her husband Ralph; a daughter, Denise Brooker of Des Moines; three sons, Marty of Altoona, Brian of Des Moines and Dennis of Indianola; four brothers, Dan Jurgensen of Grand Island, Nebraska, Charles Jurgensen of Earlham, William Jurgensen of Winterset and Robert Jurgensen of Seattle, Washington; five sisters, Ida Mapes of Earlham, Irene Houghtaling of Indianola, Louise Wells of Cove, Oregon, Lucy Clark of Altoona and Patsy Radtke of Randolph, Wisconsin and four grandchildren.

Note: Burial was made in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
