LILLIAN LOIS WHITE
Gig Harbor, Washington

Lillian Lois White, formerly of Macksburg, passed from this earth on Dec. 10, 2008, in Gig Harbor, Wash., where she had resided for the last four years. She was 91 years old.

Lillian was born in Jewell, Iowa, on Oct. 14, 1917, and lived her younger life in Colfax, Iowa. She married William White on Sept. 14, 1935. She lived in Macksburg from 1947 until 2000. Lillian was a homemaker while raising her family of four children and a postal clerk at the Macksburg post office for 10 years until her retirement.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother as well as an excellent cook, home decorator, gardener, cake decorator, and seamstress. She was active in the United Methodist Church in Macksburg.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bill White, as well as her daughter, Cindi Selim, and son, David White. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Still of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a son, Larry White, who alternates residences between the Philippines and Iowa; and a brother, Verne Normandin of Colfax. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service for Lillian in Macksburg in late spring. Remembrances may be made to the United Methodist Church in Macksburg.

“If you must bury something, let it be my faults and my weaknesses. If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do these things, I will live forever.”

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg. Lillian, who lived in the state of Washington at the time of her death, was a longtime resident of Macksburg.
