Mickey Lehmer, 81, of Winterset and formerly of Orleans, Neb., died Dec. 12, 2008, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the First Christian Church in Winterset. Following services in Winterset, a second service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Orleans Presbyterian Church in Orleans, Neb. The family will gather at the church to receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at the Orleans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Care Center South Activity Fund, 715 S. 2nd Ave., Winterset, IA 50273. Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
Mickey Lehmer was born Jan. 25, 1927, in rural Macksburg, Madison County, to Glen and Pauline (Klos) Campbell. She was united in marriage to Ray Lehmer. Mickey resided in Orleans, Neb., for a time and in the Winterset area since 2000. She was employed in custodial work for nursing homes, including B&D in Holdrege, Neb., and Walker Post Manor in Oxford. Mickey was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church in Orleans, Neb., and attended the First Christian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Herren.
She is survived by her children — Debra Jane Lehmer Herbert of Lexington, Neb., and Donald Wayne Lehmer of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Doris Cooper of Creston and Carol Jacobs of Winterset; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
