PEORIA -- Charles Sherman Guynn, 68, of Peoria died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at his residence.

Born March 20, 1931, in Earlham, Iowa, to Charles Sr. and Katherine Justus Guynn, he married Carol A. McDonough on Feb. 18, 1940, in East Peoria. She survives him.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Kathy) Brown of Groveland and Mrs. Lee (Terri) Easton of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He owned and operated Guynn's TV for 45 years. He coached the Central Sophomores in the Journal Star Prep Baseball League. He was a member of the Sunday Morning League baseball hall of fame. He was a member of the Peoria Park District Golf League. He was a former member of Mount Hawley Country Club and Sunset Hills Country Club.

He played in the Senior City Golf Tournament, at which he received second place in 1990. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Chaplain Michael MacKenzie will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the mortuary. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Methodist Hospice.
