Minnie P. Creager, the daughter of Albert and Clara Duff Putney, was born January 21, 1915 in Madison County, Iowa. She passed away May 1, 1982 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines where she had been a patient for the past five days.
Minnie grew up on the family farm south of Dexter and attended country school.
She was united in marriage to Robert M. Creager. The couple made their home in Dexter. For over 10 years Minnie worked for Younkers in the jewelry department at Merle Hay Mall.
Minnie was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church. For many years she had also been a member of the Dexter Woman’s Club and the Garden Club.
Survivors include her beloved husband Robert; one son, Robert W. Creager of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Gloria Carlson of Kingsville, Texas; one step son, Robert L. Creager of Dexter; one step daughter, Mrs. Ruth Killingsworth of Mead, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and one brother, Melvin Putney, of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were conducted on May 4, 1982 at the Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert G. Farr officiating. Mr. Bob Lawson provided organ music. Casket bearers were Richard Adkins, Chuck Lister, Ronnie Paullin, Gerald Stanley, Rick Ussery, and Richard Wells. Interment was in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.
