Obituary

Merlyn Frey, the son of Otto and Mary McCullough Frey was born in Lorimor, Iowa on March 17, 1921. He passed away at his home in Earlham on April 24, 1982.

He grew up in the Lorimor Community and attended school there. At the age of 17 he moved with his family to the Earlham Community.

On September 28, 1941 Merlyn was united in marriage to Sadie Orton in Maryville, Missouri. Shortly after their marriage Merlyn served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Following his return from the service he began working in the trucking business. He also operated a hog buying business with the help of his wife, Sadie, from 1953 until 1971 in the Earlham community. Since 1971 he has been an employee of the M and W Farm Service Co. of Winterset.

Survivors include his loving wife Sadie; two daughters, Mary Adkins and Carolyn Boyle both of Earlham; and four grandsons, Greg, Brant, Shawn and Rusty. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Note: Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
