Obituary

William Davis, son of Francis M. and Sarah E. Davis, was born near Booneville, in Madison county on April 18th, 1889. He lived there until his marriage to Gladys Hoeye on December 9, 1911. They continued to live near Booneville vicinity, until he was stricken with polio in September, 1917. After a few years spent in Earlham, they moved to Des Moines in September, 1922, where he has since made his home.

Although partially paralyzed Will spent his time in sewing and tailoring. He was always cheerful and happy in his work.

He passed away at his home in Des Moines, after several weeks of illness on March 21, 1947. He leaves his devoted wife Gladys Davis, one sister, Mrs. Orpha Gutshall of Linden, three brothers, Charles of Newton; George of Earlham; and Edd of Menlo, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
