Claude A. Mark of Earlham, Iowa, departed this life at the Des Moines Methodist Hospital on March 18, 1976 at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 18 days.
Claude Mark was one of four children born to James Sydney and Grace Mark in Walnut township, Dallas county, Iowa on May 31, 1902.
During his youth he attended the Earlham school. In June, 1929 he was united in marriage to Harriet Van Polen of Pella. Most of his life was spent in the Earlham community. He will be remembered for his many years of service as a barber.
He had been a resident of the Earlham Convalescent Center the past few months before he was taken to the Des Moines Methodist Hospital where he died.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Harriet, a resident of the Earlham Convalescent Center, and a few relatives and many friends.
The funeral services were held at the McKee Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, March 20, 1976 at one-thirty o’clock conducted by Rev. Glen Moore.
Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dan Rush, Les Goeldner, Wayne Swallow, Paul Mark, Vernon Mark, and Von Allen.
