Obituary

A memorial service for Lewis E. Webb was given by Rev. Robert Farr at the United Methodist church Monday. Webb died March 27 at the age of 65. Organist was Elinor Chapler. Casket bearers were Roy Evans, Jack Godby, Lloyd Hadley, Mervin Wells, Richard Wells and Robert Wells. Interment was in the Dexter cemetery by McKee Funeral Homes.

Lewis Elmer Webb was born to George and Ida Webb, September 27, 1910. He moved to Dexter in 1928.

Lewie was united in marriage to Martha Marston in 1936. They worked together in the restaurant business for many years. He was also well known for his work as a painter.

Born to this union were a daughter Janet, now of Des Moines, and a son, Jerry of Moline, Illinois. Lewie was a World War II veteran and a member of the Masonic order.

Lewie died March 27 at the age of 65 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers Raymond and Ivan and a sister Marie. Those who survive him are his wife and children, a granddaughter Kimberly, his brother Floyd of Woodburn, and two sisters, Ethel Love of Des Moines and Grace Young of Winterset.
