Obituary

Alta Charlene Stanley Link, oldest daughter of Clifford and Leatha Stanley, was born on a farm near Earlham on December 17, 1923 and departed this life September 19, 1975 at the age of 51 years.

She grew up in the Dexter-Earlham vicinity, graduating from Redfield high school in 1942. Previous to her marriage she worked at Iowa Packing Company in Des Moines.

Charlene’s death came as a great shock. She will be greatly missed in the home she shared with her father and only daughter, Charlottee Ann. She was a wonderful mother, kind and helpful to all who needed her service.

She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Jean Crase of Redfield, Mrs. Marcella Howe of Creston, Mrs. Lila Love of Dexter, Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Drexel, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Charlene loved her outdoor life and her happiest hours were spent in her gardens.

Funeral services were held on September 22, 1975 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with Rev. Robert T. Farr officiating.

Casket bearers were Darrell Crase, Michael Crase, Robert Snodgrass, nephews and Allen Atherton, Virgil Sanborn, and Harold Schwenneker, neighbors.

Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
