Albert Stron, son of William and Mary Stron, was born April 19, 1890 in Madison county near Winterset, and passed away September 10, 1975, at Winterset Memorial hospital, aged 85 years, 4 months and 22 days.
He was suddenly stricken Tuesday evening and passed away the following morning.
He has been a resident of Madison Manor the last several years.
On April 30, 1914 he was united in marriage to Gertrude Adams of Winterset. All their married life was spent in Winterset except a few years when he worked at the Ankeny Ordinance plant during World War II. Then after the war he engaged in farming near Winterset till retirement.
In earlier years he worked for Madison county on road construction and maintenance and several years at Breeding Hardware store.
He was a long-time member of the Winterset Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by Gertrude his wife, his parents and five brothers. He is survived by two sisters: Bell Kessner of Chicago, Illinois and Edith Reed of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.
