Obituary
Jessie Etha (Clarke) Passick was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 13, 1887, the daughter of William Clarke and Anna Schafer Clarke.
Her sister was Hazel Eleanor Hizzer of Rockford, Illinois, and another sister Gladys Evelyn preceded her, dying in childhood.
After graduating from high school, Jessie worked in Des Moines, and later moved to Earlham where she worked in the Citizen’s State Bank.
Jessie married Clyde Renshaw October 5, 1928. They farmed in the Earlham area until his death in February 1950.
After Clyde’s death, Jessie worked at the grain elevator in Earlham for a few years.
On January 13, 1956 Jessie married Detlef Passick with the couple living in Earlham until his death May 22, 1970.
Her last year Jessie resided at the Madison Manor nursing home in Winterset, where she died on July 31, 1975.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Earlham Historical Society, and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Services were held August 4, 1975 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donald Taylor officiating and Evans-McKee providing interment at Des Moines.
