Funeral services for Theda Bilney were held at the Timeon Funeral Chapel in Woodward Monday, September 18, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Robert Jones officiated and Mrs. Everett Maas was the organist.

The flower committee consisted of Mesdames Edith Bliss, Pauline Thornsberry and Lois Cook.

Casketbearers were Arlo Rhoads, Bob Rhoads, Roger Rhoads, James Hass, Bruce Brolsma and Warren Piatt.

Interment was in the Woodward Cemetery, Woodward, Iowa.

Theda Bilney, daughter of George and Lucy Rhoads Bilney was born in Woodward October 19, 1902 and died at the Dallas County Hospital Friday, September 15, at the age of 69 years.

She was a graduate of the Woodward Public School and the University of Northern Iowa. She was the first grade teacher in the Woodward and Earlham Public School’s until she retired four years ago after 44 years. Since her retirement she had made her home with her sister, Mrs. Sue Miller.

Theda was a member of the United Methodist Church and a Past Matron and 50 year member of Faithful Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Nina and three brothers, Verne, Edward and Roy.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sue Miller of Woodward and Mrs. Jess Taylor of Perry; three brothers Ansel, Ellsworth and Eugene of Los Angeles, California; one niece, Mrs. Marion Jean Ryan of Cherokee, Iowa and a nephew, William Bilney of Spirit Lake, Iowa and other relatives and many friends.
