Obituary
Anna Belle Plagman, the daughter of Ocie and Clarence Vaughn, was born January 17, 1931 at Benton Ferry, West Virginia. In 1936 she moved with her parents and family to Earlham where they lived until 1946. They then moved to a farm near Orient.
On March 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Plagman at the First Baptist church in Des Moines. To this union five children were born—Larry, Arleatia, Patrick and Nancy, all living at home; and Francis Dean, who passed away in infancy.
After their marriage they moved to their present home on a farm southwest of Irwin.
Mrs. Plagman was a member of the First Baptist church of Harlan and of the Green Ridge Club of Irwin.
She entered into eternal rest on January 13, 1972 at the Nebraska University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska just four days before her 41st birthday.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, Ocie, in 1938.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest J.; her four children; her parents LaVonna and Clarence Vaughn of Creston; four sisters, Miss Nina Marie Vaughn of Pacifica, California; Barbara Jean (Mrs. Wyman Zellewager) of Orient; Donna Lee (Mrs. James Evans) of Pacifica, California; and Patricia (Mrs. Kenneth Morris) of Earlham; and by two brothers: John Kramer Vaughn of Orient and Milton Davis Vaughn of Des Moines.
She is also survived by her grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. George Davis of Earlham; several aunts and uncles; cousins; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Harlan with Pastor Peter M. Kemper officiating.
Interment was in the Graceland cemetery at Avoca. Honorary bearers were Kenneth Morris and Wyman Zellewager.
