HAROLD WILLIAM JENSEN

Harold William Jensen, 89, of rural Van Meter passed away on Oct. 22, 2008, at the Kavanagh House in West Des Moines. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter.

Harold was born Feb. 11, 1919, on the family farm of Julius and Marie (Thomsen) Jensen and was a 1936 graduate of DeSoto High School. He farmed his entire life in Madison County, retiring in 1988. In the following years, he restored IH tractors. Harold was an active and lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frieda (Rehbein) Jensen; three children: Mary Ann (Mark) Behrens of Moline, Ill., Wilbur Dale (Kathy) Jensen of Springfield, Ill., and Bill (Janice) Jensen of Van Meter; five grandchildren: Brent and Bryan Behrens, Chris and Kayla Jensen, and Lacey (Aaron) Horn; two great-grandsons: Eli and Isaiah Horn; a sister, Marjorie Cade of Urbandale; a nephew, Jim Cade; and a niece, Jean (Cade) Zell.
