Services Held For Mrs. Maud Vaughn

Services were held Tuesday, January 21, at 10:00 a.m. in the Evans Funeral Home in Earlham. Rev. Ward Young officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Marlin Brittain. Casket bearers were: Chuck Anker, Wayne Wright, Loren Rhodes, Dick Osborn, Chuck Kasal and Bill Black.

Interment was in the Marengo I.O.O.F. cemetery at Marengo, Iowa.

Obituary

Delilah Maud Leslie, daughter of Joseph F. and Emma Leslie, was born September 29, 1878 at Mt. Vernon, Iowa and passed away January 19, 1969 at the Memorial hospital in Winterset, Iowa. She was 90 years, 3 months and 21 days of age.

Her life was lived in the Cedar Rapids area until moving to the Earlham community in the early 1940’s.

She was united in marriage to James G. Vaughn and devoted her life to her home and family.

She was a member of the United Brethren church.

She was preceded in death by her husband James who passed away November 30, 1964.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Faetka, Cedar Rapids; three sons: Frank Vaughn, Auburn, Washington; Charles Vaughn, Titusville, Fla.; Melvin Vaughn, Earlham; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and friends.
