JACOB SINN Obituary

With our heart full of sorrow and sympathy for the sorrowing, we pen the death of Uncle Jacob Sinn, an old and respected resident of our community. John Jacob Sinn was born in Wittenberg, Germany, Sept. 1, 1830, and passed away Feb. 19, 1913, at his home south of Truro, after an illness of but a few days, at the advanced age of 82 years, five months and 19 days.

He was married to Mrs. Rachel Anna Hilterbrand-Miller in 1859. They lived happily together until June 21, 1905, when his wife passed away. He united with the German Lutheran church at the age of 25, and lived true and faithful until called by his heavenly father. He was a loving companion, a kind father and a good neighbor and his friends are numbered by his acquaintances.

To this union were born ten children, four daughters and six sons, eight of whom are living and were present at his bedside when he fell peacefully asleep to waken in a better and brighter world, where there are no sorrows and tears.

The funeral services conducted by Rev. A. D. White, were held at the home Friday at ll o'clock and was attended by a large congregation of sorrowing friends and neighbors to pay the last tribute of respect to one whom they loved. The remains were laid to rest beside his wife in the Fields cemetery.
