County and CityThe sad news has been received of the death of Mrs. Wm. Fenimore, of Peru. She had lain at the point of death for several days, and the end came last Monday morning.

Louisa Ellis Fennimore was born in Fayette county, Ohio, May 12th, 1845 and died at Peru, Madison county, Ia., August 29th, 1898, aged 53 years, 3 months and 17 days. She was married to William Fennimore September 13th, 1877. Two daughters were born to this union and are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother. She united with the Friends church in 1875 and five years ago she withdrew and together with her husband united with the Peru Christian church.
Her health has been failing for several months. Six weeks ago she was taken seriously ill and never rallied. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an honored member of the church and a true friend. She was ready to go and gave repeated assurances of her acceptance by her Saviour whom she so faithfully served. Her funeral was held on Tuesday at ten o’clock and was largely attended by friends and acquaintances who mourn her loss. The sermon was preached by Rev. Follansbee, of Winterset. Six members of the Rebekah Lodge officiated as pall bearers. One hundred and fifty teams were in the procession that followed her remains to the cemetery.

Louisa Ellis Fenimore, wife of William Fenimore, died at Peru Monday morning, aged 53 years, 3 months and 17 days. She left two daughters and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. For some time her health had been declining, and for the past six weeks she has been confined to her room.
Twenty-five years ago she united with the Society of Friends, and five years ago she withdrew and joined the Christian church at Peru. Her life has been such that it has won universal admiration. A devoted wife, a loving mother, a true friend has gone to receive her reward.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday forenoon at the church, and attended by an immense congregation. Six of the Rebekah sisters acted as pall bearers. The sermon was preached by Rev. Follansbee. She was born in Fayette county, Ohio.
Note: Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
