Gerald “Tony” Armstrong, 84, of Winterset died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Winterset Care Center South in Winterset.
Graveside services will be held today, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at the Penn Center Cemetery in Madison County with Pastor Bill Branson officiating. Burial will be in the Penn Center Cemetery.
Tony was born May 22, 1924, in Van Meter to William and Iva (McKibben) Armstrong. He had lived at the Madison County Home for many years until moving to Care Center South. Tony always enjoyed dogs and wearing baseball caps.
Tony is survived by his brother, Max Armstrong of Scott City, Kansas, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mervin; and two sisters, Louise Hobbs and Leone Hobbs.
Memorials given to the family will be directed to the Care Center South Activity Fund.
Note: Per information supplied by a family member, "Hobbs" should be "Boggs" and "Mervin" should be "Mervyn".
