Mrs E. E. Douglas Died Here Sunday

Resident of Winterset Last 25 Years, Was Ill Only Two Days

Mrs. E. E. Douglas, a resident of Winterset for the last 35 years died at her home here Sunday following a brief illness. She had been stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage last Friday and her death occurred two days later. She was 68 years of age.

Mrs. Douglas was a native of Des Moines, where she was born Feb. 18, 1879. She was the former Bertha Mae Hoare, daughter of James and Roxann Hoare. She attended the Des Moines schools and graduated fro West high school there. In early life she became a member of the Church of Christ in Des Moines, and retained that affiliation throughout her life.

She was married Oct. 18, 1912 to Ernest E. Douglas. Since then they had made their home in Winterset. Mr. Douglas had engaged in the trade of harness maker here until his retirement several years ago.

She is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Clark, of Craig, Colo., and a half - brother, Robert Perkins of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 2 pm from the Ramsey - Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Wilbur Watkins, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
