Obituary

Inez Garrett McKibben, the eldest child of Menary and Margarit Garrett, was born in Madison county, December 28, 1886, and passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines on December 20, 1965, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 22 days. She had been a patient there for approximately eight weeks.

She lived in the Earlham vicinity during her entire lifetime. After graduation from the Earlham Academy, she taught school for a number of years.

On June 22, 1910, she was married to H. C. McKibben of Earlham. To this union, one son, Nile, was born on May 5, 1912. They had lived at the present home for 48 years. They celebrated their 55th anniversary last June.

Her happiest moments were when her son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were in her home. She was a good wife, mother and neighbor; always willing to help out wherever needed.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one brother.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Harry; her son Nile; two grandchildren, Darrell and Darwin; and three great grandchildren, Leslie, Scott and Samuel; one sister, Mrs. Glenn Ramsey; two brothers, Bruce (other name missing); a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Earlham on December 23, 1965, with Rev. John Latta officiating. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
