Services Held for Lester Nelson
Word was received last week of the death of Lester Nelson, aged 60, a former resident of the Bear Creek community. Death was due to a heart attack.
He attended the Bear Creek school and was graduated from the Earlham High School in 1922. Of this class of 27 members, Lester is the ninth taken by death.
In 1923 the Nelson family moved to a farm near Ames. He attended college there and received his degree in engineering. Civil engineering became his life profession.
Lester served in the Armed Forces during World War II, rising to the rank of captain. He was married about one year ago.
Funeral services were in Sioux City and burial at Fort Dodge.
