Obituary
Grover Cleveland Adams, son of Lucy and John Adams, was born at Keytsville, Missouri, on October 31, 1884. He passed away January 9, 1965. At the time of his passing, he was 80 years, 2 months and 8 days of age.
His youth was spent in the Mendon and Brookfield, Missouri communities. On June 5, 1904, he was united in marriage to Mable May Jackson. In 1937 the family moved to Gowrie, Iowa, and later to the Earlham and De Soto communities where he followed his chosen vocation of farming and carpentering.
Surviving is his wife Mable, two daughters and one son, Estelle M. Power of Orrick, Missouri, Lucille K. Caudle of Van Meter and Meredith L. Adams of Earlham. Twelve grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one brother also survive him.
He was preceded in death by two sons, one grandson, one sister, and six brothers.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 12, at 10:00 a.m. in the De Soto Methodist church with the Rev. Milton Lentz officiating. Mrs. Max Riley was the pianist and accompanied Robert G. Fisher, soloist. Casket bearers were Cyrus McDonald, Irvin Loose, Alfred Young, Lyle Davis, Omar Caudle and Ed Leazenby.
Interment was at Mendon, Missouri.
