Earl Conard, 99, of Tucson, Ariz., is now present with the Lord. He left Monday morning, Sept. 29, 2008.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset where family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. A visitation with family will be held from 6–8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset. Burial will be in Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
A memorial celebration is planned for Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Sahuaro Baptist Church in Tucson, Ariz.
Earl was born March 3, 1909. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2009. The Lord promises long life to those who trust Him. On Dec. 9, 1930, Earl was married to Olive Ruth Veatch, who preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 1985.
Earl started a radio and TV business in Winterset back in 1947 and later worked for Mills Motor as a master mechanic for over 30 years until he retired and eventually moved to Tucson.
He is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Meyer of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Kenneth Conard (Carol) of Winterset; six grandsons — Joel, Jeremy, and Jamie Conard of Winterset, Daniel Conard of West Des Moines, Steve Mead of Winterset, and David Meyer of Evergreen, Colo.; six granddaughters — Karla Baez of San Diego, Calif., Trina Doke of Des Moines, Lori Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., Janine Tomlin of San Diego, Calif., Julie Forkan of Anacortes, Wash., and Paula Hannon of Winterset; 42 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Ron Mead of Cottonwood, Ariz.
Earl was preceded in death by a son, Dean; a daughter, JoAnn Mead; a grandson, Brian; a great-granddaughter, Michaala; and a son-in-law, Fredrick Meyer.
Earl left behind a spiritual legacy to family and friends that will never be forgotten. He truly loved his Lord and was a living testimony to that fact. His Christ-like example is being lived out in the many lives that he touched.
