Obituary

Ida Norine Elizabeth Jobst, the daughter of Edward Scar and Anna, nee Fett, was born in Penn township, Madison county, Iowa, June 16, 1887. She was received into the membership in the Lutheran church through Holy Baptism on July 24, 1887. She was confirmed on April 5, 1903. She became organist of Zion Lutheran church at an early age.

On January 14, 1914 she was married to Adolph Jobst. Three children were born to this union. She became a charter member of Zion Ladies’ Aid when it was organized in 1921. Her husband preceded her in death on July 26, 1963.

After a brief illness, Mrs. Jobst passed away at the Dexter hospital on November 24, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 8 days. She is survived by one son Carl of Earlham; two daughters, Ilah, Mrs. Dale Mueller of Anita, and Ruth, Mrs. Marvin Wedemeyer of Adair, five grandchildren, three brothers, Wm. Scar and Charles Scar of Dexter and Fred Scar of Earlham, on sister, Ella, Mrs. John Willrich, of Dexter and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services under the direction of the Evans Funeral Home were held at Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Norman M. Luecht in charge. Interment was in Penn Center cemetery. Casket bearers were six nephews, Paul Willrich, Alvin Scar, Norman Scar, Leonard Scar, Marvin Jobst and Harold Jobst.
