VERA RUTHERFORD

Vera M. Rutherford, 95, of Fleur Heights Care Center died of a heart ailment there Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Penn Center Cemetery in Earlham.

Mrs. Rutherford was born in Earlham and had lived there and in Pitzer, Earlham and Winterset areas before moving to Des Moines, 54 years ago. She was a seamstress with Montgomery Wards and Younkers and a dressmaker before retiring. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed sharing her crocheting and knitting projects with others.

She is survived by a daughter, Opal Chamberlin of Monroe six grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fleur Heights Care Center Activity Fund.
