Franklin Glenn Post, Cumberland

Franklin Glenn Post, age 74, of Cumberland passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center in Atlantic.

Frank was born on March 13, 1934 to Bill and Maggie (Davis) Post in Winterset. He attended school at Winterset until the eighth grade when he then went into the Navy where he was an engineer for two years and 26 days. Frank was united in marriage to Beverly Joan Nellis on Oct. 16, 1958 in Winterset. Frank did a lot of different things through his life. He farmed, he worked with consturction and he was a deputy sheriff in Maysville, Mo. and Osborn, Mo. for three years. He loved fishing and listening to music. Frank was a fun man to be around. he always made everyone laugh and he would do anything for anyone even if that meant to take the shirt off of his back. Frank loved spending all of his spare time and holidays with his family. He also loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Tim Post, of Cumberland; a daughter, Tammie Post, of Spokane, Wash., a step-daughter, Julie Nickles, of Chariton; one brother, Terry Post of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, Bill and Maggie Post; two brothers, Jr. Post and John Post; two sisters, Mary Post and Dela Post.

Services for Frank will be held on Monday, Sept. 8 at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic at 10:30 a.m. with Mitch Holmes officiating. Interment will be in the Peru Cemetery south of Winterset with military services by the Color Guard.
