Wednesday, November 24, 1897Blanche, the six-year-old daughter of Wm. Hartman, died of membranous croup Tuesday morning of this week.

Blanche, the five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hartman, living in the southwest part of town, died Monday night from membranous croup.

Page 7, Column 2Died of Croup:"-The little five-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Hartman, residing in the south part of town, died Monday evening from membranous croup. Drs. Embree, Skinner and Davisson performed the operation of tracheotomy, the operation of making an opening into the windpipe, but the child died within a few minutes after the operation had been performed.
The funeral occurred the following day.
