Winterset Reporter – November 11, 1897
Died, at the home of Rev. Lamb, in Truro, Iowa, Nov. 4th, 1897, Dr. D. W. Fowler, of Wabash, Indiana, age 75 years. Dr. Fowler arrived here Tuesday and arranged to hold services in the Christian church every Sunday. He commenced to preach Wednesday evening, taking for his text: “Thy Will be Done,” but was obliged to ask Rev. Foglesbee of Osceola, who was present, to conduct the services. He was then taken to the home of Rev. Lamb where he died after a few hours of the most intense suffering, from neuralgia of the heart. The funeral services was held Thursday afternoon in the Christian church, after which the body was forwarded to his home.
