Obituary

Died, Sunday evening, just at sunset, Rebecca Casteel, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Henry Porter, in Grand River township. The deceased was in her eightieth year. She had been failing fast for several months, and her many friends were expecting the end of her earthly existence soon. She had been a woman of rare constitutional strength, was unmovable in her belief in Christ.

The funeral services were held at West Branch M. E. church, Monday at 3 p.m., conducted by D. N. Myers, pastor of the Baptist church at Macksburg. Text, “The Angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him.” The rough exterior which had long been the abiding place of a helpful, cheerful spirit was laid to rest in the church cemetery to await the call of its creator.

Note: Burial was made in the West Branch cemetery.
