Mary Frances Clark was born February 19, 1830, in Ross county, Ohio. In her childhood she removed with her parents to White county, Indiana. At the age of 21 years she was united in marriage with James Clark. Soon after, she with her husband came to Iowa, settling in Buchanan county, in 1855. In 1865 the family again removed, this time settling in Madison county, where they have ever since resided, the greater part of the time on a farm near Truro, but since 1898 she has lived in Truro.
To this union were born ten children, only four of whom survive the mother. Two sons, Charles and Nelson, of Truro, and two daughters, Mrs. Cindrilla Kimball of Grand River, Iowa, and Mrs. Cora Bates, of Norwalk, Iowa. Eleven grandchildren, four of whom are children of the deceased daughter of Mrs. Clark - - unreadable
Both father and mother united with the Christian church at Truro, Iowa, in 1895 and remained faithful to the end.
Death came at the home of Mrs. Kimball, where she had gone for a visit, after an illness of but three days at the ripe age of 78 years, 2 months and 27 days.
