Death of MRS. CLARA A. SMITH

Died at her home, 534 1/2 South Hope St., Los Angeles, Calif., Friday evening, April 24, 1908. Mrs. Clara A. Smith, aged 68 years and 18 days was the widow of L. F. Smith, formerly of Winterset, but who died in Des Moines five years ago.

The deceased was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive her. They are Chas. H. Smith of Colorado City, Colo., Mrs. Carl T. Prime, Chicago, Mrs. Wm. R. Shively of Hemet, Calif., Philip F. Smith of the U. S. ship "Virginia" U.S. Navy, Lester H. Smith of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Bessie Harris and Miss Mary Evangeline Smith both of Los Angeles, Calif.

She also leaves eleven living grandchildren, the two oldest grandsons being sons of Helen Smith-Roseberry, now deceased, but formerly of Winterset.

The funeral was held Monday, April 27th and interment took place in Rosedale cemetery, Los Angeles.

The Smith family resided in Winterset years ago, Mr. Smith being a banker here for twelve years. They later resided in Des Moines, and recently in Los Angeles.
