Jeanne Louise (Farson) Blackledge, 87, of Monroe, passed away March 27, 2008, at Hilltop Manor in Pella. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church, with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will be present form 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Monroe Untied Methodist Church and online condolences may be made to www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

Jeanne, daughter of Frank P. and Rosa Nell (Braught) Farson, was born February 4, 1921, in Truro, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1939. On April 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Duane E. Blackledge of Monroe. To this union were born two sons, Ronald and Richard Duane. Jeanne was a homemaker and worked thirteen years at the U.S. Post Office in Monroe. She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church for 58 years.

Jeanne is survived by her son Richard (Rick) and his wife Mary of Monroe, one granddaughter, Jill E. of Los Angeles, California, two sisters, Ruie (Robert) Bradley of Sunnyvale, California, and Ann (Phil) Merrill of Lakewood, California, one sister-in-law, Oreta Van Zee of Pella and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Duane, infant son, Ronald, and brother, Price Farson.
