Alfred S. Brobst, 75, Moline, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at Trinity, West Campus, Rock Island.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Viola Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jinks Family Funeral Services, Milan. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born June 18, 1922, in Pella, Iowa, to Everett and Mable Wright Brobst. He married Mayme Irene Pyles April 5, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo.

He worked at the former Ametech Co. in East Moline for over 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mayme; daughters, Ellen Schnell, Coal Valley, and Brenda Gilbert, Chetek, Wis.; a son, Everett, Wharton, Texas; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane Vandermark, Violet Mae Anderson, Patty Riggs, Josephine Teems, all of Des Moines, Betty Lemon, Winterset, Iowa, and Bonnie Hughes; and a brother Arthur Brobst, Winterset.
