Bertha Beard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Beard of this township, died on Monday evening from that dread disease, lock jaw. About 2 weeks ago she ran a sliver in the bottom of her foot and from this apparently trifling wound tetanus developed causing her death. The young lady was about 20 years of age and her death calls for the deepest sympathy for the bereaved family who about a year ago were bereft of a son and brother.
