Death Of JIM AGAN

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 29, 1976, at 1 p.m., for James L. Agan who died Thursday, May 27, 1976, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines following injuries he received May 13 in a motor vehicle accident in Winterset City Park. Agan was 50 years of age.

The son of Shelby Agan and Pearl Carr Agan, James was born March 11, 1926, in Woodward, Iowa, and married Agatha Beem June 29, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a resident of Madison County for about 14 years, living in Winterset.

A construction worker, James Agan was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Agatha, of Winterset, a son, Jim L. Agan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, a daughter, Cheryl Berry of Lorimor, and two grandchildren.

Also surviving is his father, Shelby Agan of Des Moines, seven brothers, Laurel, Charles, Earl, Allan, Larry and Michael, all of Des Moines, and Fred of Seattle, Washington, and five sisters, Jacquette, Edith, JoAnn, Martha and Pamela.

Funeral arrangements were made by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Robert C. Toso officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Green-Rogers Post 143.
