REBECCA C. YOUNG

Rebecca C. Young was born in West Moreland county, Pennsylvania Jan. 17, 1824. When a child she moved with her parents to Ohio. About 1851 they moved to West Virginia and in 1859 they came by team to St. Charles, Iowa. They located on a farm south of town where she lived until after the death of her parents.

About 20 years ago, she and her brother, Thomas, moved to St. Charles. After the death of her brother, she took the care of her sister, Mrs. Sarah Muster until her death about 13 years ago; since then she has lived alone, until Nov. 23, 1915 when she was taken to the home of her nephew, C. J. Young, where she died March 12, 1916, aged 92 years, 1 month and 24 days.

She had been failing in health since about the first of February, but was able to be up most of the time until March 4th.

She has been a member of the M. E. church for many years. She was a good singer and delighted to tell of her experience at camp meetings and of leading in the singing. She was able to sing until a few days before her death.

She is survived by one brother, J. J. Young of Truro and many other relatives.
