JEAN PERKINS GREENWOOD, Clive, Iowa

Jean Perkins Greenwood, 81, of Clive, Iowa died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Ashworth Road Baptist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Jean was born near Macksburg, Iowa, and has lived in the Des Moines area since 1944. She retired from Farm Bureau Insurance Services after 33 years. She was active in her church and has been a volunteer with Hospice since 1989 and Living History Farms since 2001. She enjoyed reading, walking, and playing cards. She also enjoyed interacting with children.

Survivors include her two sons, Stephen C. Perkins (Kathy Miller), Louisville, KY and Mark A. Perkins, Des Moines; two step-daughters, Barbara A. (Steve) Johnson, LeGrand, and Kimberlee S. (Randy) Jones, Des Moines; one sister, Ruth L. Tucker, Winterset; three brothers, Blaine Tucker (Darlene), Branson, MO, Keith (Ethel Lee) Tucker, Winterset, and Max (Mary Jo) Tucker, Macksburg; and six grandchildren, David Perkins, New York, NY, Genevieve Perkins, Santa Cruz, CA, Taylor, Charlotte and Zackary Johnson all of LeGrand, and Blake Jones, Des Moines. She was pre-deceased by her husbands Bill Perkins and Howard Greenwood; her parents, James Ira and Mattie Cochran Tucker; brother, Dean Tucker; and sisters, Helen Walter, Eleanor Wickstrand and Kathryn Kyner.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to Wellspring (a mental health housing and services provider) P.O. Box 1927, Louisville, KY 40201.
