EDITH PEARL ALLEN

Edith Pearl Childers was born in Winterset, Iowa, July 9, 1889 and died at her home in South township, March 3, 1916, aged 26 years, 7 months and 24 days.

Her father died when she was seven years old. Seventeen years ago she moved to the country to make her home with her step-father, T. E. Husted, where she lived until her marriage to Roy R. Allen on Feb. 12, 1907. To this union were born four children: Louise, Lois, Fred and Eugene. Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her death, a mother, step-father, one brother, three half-brothers and two step-brothers.

At the age of 14 years, she joined the Elm Grove M. E. church and has ever since remained loyal to this union, humbly following the Master's teaching in the rearing of her children and in her relations with her fellow-men. Patient, kind and loving she was always ready and willing to sacrifice for others and was dearly loved by all who knew her.

Her last suffering was very brief, tenderly kissing her husband good bye, she quietly passed into eternal sleep.
