O. C. Eyerly Died Friday

Orris C. Eyerly of Macksburg, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Friday, Feb. 11, at Des Moines General hospital. He was 71 years of age.

Mr. Eyerly was born near Pitzer on May 16, 1900, son of William and Ada Spear Eyerly. In 1912 the family moved to a farm near Macksburg. The remainder of his life was spent in Webster and Grand River townships.

He was married Feb. 16, 1922 to Mae Marie Cochran, who survives him.

Mr. Eyerly was a member of Grace Baptist church at Winterset, in which he served actively in various capacities, most recently as a member of the board of deacons.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Walter W. Eyerly of Macksburg, Clair D Eyerly of Columbia, Mo., and Arloene M Eyerly of Winterset. One son died in infancy.

He also leaves eight grandchildren; a great granddaughter, two sisters, Mrs. Oreen Wallace of Macksburg, and Mrs. Alice Lawless of Des Moines; and a brother, Ralph Eyerly of Macksburg.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Grace Baptist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Don Reising. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
