Death of WHEATLEY HARPER

Wheatley Joseph Harper, was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, Nov. 7, 1826, and died at his home in Madison county, Iowa April 15, 1908, aged 82 years, 5 months and 8 days.

He came to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1855, where he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Bauer, April 8, 1856, remaining there until the year 1858, when he removed to his farm in Madison county, Iowa, where he has since made his home. Eight children were born to this union, of whom five sons and one daughter, are still living. They with their invalid mother and a host of friends mourn his loss. He was a kind and loving husband and father and all who knew him loved him, and he will be sadly missed by all in his neighborhood.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Winterset and the remains were laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.

Obituary

Wheatly Joseph Harper was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, Nov. 7th, 1826, died at his home in Madison county, Iowa, April 15th, 1908, aged 82 years 5 months and 8 days. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are still living, five sons and one daughter. Besides the children, he leaves an invalid wife and a host of friends to mourn his loss.

He was a kind and loving husband and father and all who knew him loved him. He will be sadly missed in his neighborhood.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Winterset and his remains were peacefully laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.
