Susan F. Goodman, 62, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Windsor United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Sue was born August 25, 1945 in Waycross, Georgia to Robert and Michelene Towers. She grew up in Urbandale, Iowa. While working at Banker's Trust she met her husband, Jimmie. On June 11, 1967 they were married in Winterset, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters and lived their adult lives happily in their home in Des Moines.

Sue was active in her church and her children's schools. Her passion for sewing led her to doing alterations for friends and family for most of her life. She loved to travel and just recently went to Hawaii with her husband and close friends. But what made Sue most happy was being with her grandchildren; Colin (5), Jordan (4), Cora (3) and Payton (2).

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Jimmie; her daughters, Kristen (Evan) Wyer of Ankeny and Michelle (Joe) Wehr of Blue Grass, Iowa; mother, Michelene Bentall of West Des Moines; brother, Richard (Karen) Towers; two sisters-in-law; four grandchildren and many special aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Towers; father-in-law, William Goodman; step-father, Thornton Bentall and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Westover Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to John Stoddard Cancer Center or Windsor United Methodist Church.
