DONALD W. LITTLE, Portage, Wisconsin

Donald W. Little, 79, of Portage, Wis., died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, having survived 19 years with Parkinson’s disease.

Memorial services were held Sunday, March 16, at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with the Rev. David Hankins officiating. A private inurnment was held. Visitation was held prior to the service.

Don was born April 26, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of A.D. and Mary E. (Patterson) Little. He served his country with the Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1949. On Jan. 20, 1951, he married Mary Jane Strong at the Portage United Methodist Church manse. Don was a member of the Rotary Club, V.F.W. and American Legion in Winterset, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing and ice fishing, and did extensive genealogy research. He owned Adel Ready Mix and Lumber in Adel, Iowa, as well as the Minnewawa Lodge in Nisswa, Minn.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane, who was with him at the time of his death; three sons, Tom (Heidi) Little, Oberjosbach, Germany, Tim (Sharon) Little, Surprise, Ariz., and Don (Nantawan) Little Jr., Munich, Germany; grandchildren, Jennifer, Niklas, and Thitiwan; great-granddaughters, Mickayla Little and Jakia Cleveland; his brother, Ralph (Lucille) Little, St. Charles, Ill.; two sisters, Carolyn Towle, Grass Valley, Calif., and Harriet Hanmer, Green Point, Texas; nieces, nephews, other near relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard; and a sister, Jeanne Kellogg.
