Helen M. Wright, 90, of Winterset died March 15, 2008, at the Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, Madison Township, Madison County. Memorials will be directed to the family for future designation.

Helen Wright was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Madison County to Ollie and Edith (Graves) Haines and was a 1936 graduate of Winterset High School. On June 10, 1939, she married Arthur M. Wright in Greenfield. Helen was a bookkeeper early in her life and later a farmwife. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a longtime member of the Town & Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcia Sutherland of Winterset; one son, John Wright; two brothers, Merle Haines of Anacortes, Wash., and Lyle Haines of Lubbock, Texas; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
