PETER MOORE

Peter Moore was born Nov. 26, 1824 in Scott county, Virginia, and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Jan. 6, 1916, aged 91 years, 1 month and 11 days.

He went with his parents to Indiana when a child. He was united in marriage to Mahala Ann Smith, Nov. 18, 1844. In 1852 he moved to Madison county, Iowa, where he has since lived.

To this union there were born nine children, four sons and five daughters, of whom two survive, Mrs. Priscilla Keith of Scott township and T. L. Moore of Macksburg. His wife preceeded him in death May 23, 1909. He leaves to mourn his loss, one brother, John Moore of Winterset, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Lamb of Webster, two children, 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and one great grand child.

Funeral services were held at Fellowship church in Monroe township, Saturday, Jan. 8th, conducted by Rev. H. A. Cross of Macksburg, after which the remains were laid to rest beside those of his companion in the Hamblin cemetery.

Peter Moore

Peter Moore died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Michael Keith in Scott township at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his son, T. L. Moore and the daughter, Mrs. Keith.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Fellowship church.
